Forum Policy
The Campus Observer Forum is to allow participation from our readers and for them to take a stand and be heard. We encourage discussion on any topic and for Forum writers to respond to each other.
All letters to the Forum are to be e-mailed to news@campusobserver.org, and addressed to the Forum Editor.
Please include your full name, contact number, and e-mail address for verification purposes. This would allow the Forum editor to contact you if necessary. Female letter writers are to indicate Miss, Mrs, Mdm or Ms. to ensure a correct response in the event their letters warrant a reply.
Here are some basic guidelines:
- All letters sent to the Forum must be addressed to the Forum Editor
The Campus Observer Forum cannot publish letters that it does not know for sure to whom it is intended for.
- Letters written anonymously or under a pseudonym will not be published/ or entertained
This is to ensure accountability on the part of the letter writer and to ascertain the source of the letter.
- The Campus Observer Forum is not a message board.
We need to maintain the legitimacy and credibility of the Forum. Any personal vendetta will not be entertained. Personal musings will not be published.
- Non-disclosure of personal information
Personal information of letter writers will not be disclosed to third parties. A proper response would be to write into the Forum and address the issue and not contact the letter writer personally.
- Libellous, defamatory, abusive and obscene letters
The Campus Observer editors reserve the right not to publish any letters it deems to be in violatation of the Singapore law.
- All letters are to be written in English
For ethical reasons, the Forum editor can only publish a letter in its totality. We will not edit your letters for grammar, spelling or punctuation, lest it changes the content/ meaning of the letter. The onus is on the letter writer to write coherently.
- All letters become property of The Campus Observer
Letters can be reproduced/ archived/ used for profit without prior permission of the letter writer.
